Prayer Ministry

Mission Statement

The Prayer Team exists to serve the corporate body of The Hallows Church members (as well as guests) through guiding the broken & hurting to enjoy God and find healing in His presence through counsel, prayer, and intercession.

Ministry Vision

We, Christ's ambassadors, ministers of reconciliation, children of God, and heirs of glory with Christ Himself, have the privileged opportunity to serve as instruments in the Redeemer's hands during our worship gatherings as we engage in the indispensable ministry of intercession. In light of the gospel, we may confidently approach God's throne of grace seeking mercy and help in times of need. We are able to serve one another as Christ has served us by bearing one another's burdens through prayer and intercession.

Ministry Responsibilities

1. Pre-service Prayer:

Team members will arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of Sunday worship in order to greet the designated prayer team for the evening and distribute lanyards. They will then begin to intercede on behalf of the service and for those gathering for worship.

2. Sunday Prayer:

Members of the Prayer Ministry Team are available to pray with individuals before, during, and after each Sunday's worship gathering.

3. Weekly Prayer Requests:

Team Members will receive prayer requests and intercede on behalf of the church throughout the week.

Cycles of Service

We ask that Prayer Ministry Team members commit to an initial service duration of one quarter (10 weeks in Fall, Winter, Spring, or Summer). After one quarter, you are welcome to continue on the Prayer Ministry Team or transition to another area of service.

Key Verses

Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weakness, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
— Hebrews 4:14-16
From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
— 2 Corinthians 5:16-21
Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
— Colossians 3:2-3
