Communications Ministry

Mission Statement

The Communications Ministry Team magnifies and multiplies the gospel throughout Seattle and to the ends of the earth by empowering the ministries and members of The Hallows Church to engage in Christ-reflecting and effective interpersonal, inter-organizational and external communication.

Ministry Vision

The Communications Ministry Team demonstrates the foundational conviction that our God is a communicative God who has given His people a message to be transmitted through word and deed. By being intentional in why, what and how we communicate with one another in the body of Christ as well as with the watching world, we are able to reflect Jesus - who made the most of every opportunity to teach and disciple using various means of communication. Therefore, as a team we aid the other ministries and ministers of The Hallows Church in effectively presenting the why, how, and what we do in a way that supports gospel understanding and intent.

Ministry Responsibilities

Members of the Communications Ministry Team will work together to provide cohesive and effective communication for various ministries and ministers of The Hallows Church. The team leader will coordinate efforts among the various mediums of communication in and outside of the church. The Communications Ministry Team will consist of servants gifted and/or learning skills in one or more of these areas:

1. Graphic Design:

Creating graphic images to support ministries and ministry events for social media, web, Sunday gathering rotating slides and print pieces.

2. Video/Photo:

Creating videos and/or taking photos that support the communication of the Word on Sundays, ministry events and ministry platforms.

3. Web and Social Media:

Monitoring, maintaining & updating these platforms with helpful, timely and clear communication pertinent to those both in and outside of The Hallows community.

4. Brand:

Aid in maintaining and improving the visual representation of The Hallows Church identity so we can communicate Gospel-fueled unity, purpose and consistency in our church.

5. Print:

Create and update print pieces including but not limited to worship guides, note inserts, event advertisements, and signage.

6. Aesthetics:

Communicate our identity and the gospel through visual elements (such as decor) for Sunday gatherings and events.

TEAM MEETINGS: Team members will meet all together one time at the formation of the ministry and then meetings will be on an as-needed basis (depending on projects, deadlines and which team members/skills are required). Most meetings and communication will occur via email.

EQUIPPING OTHERS FOR MINISTRY: Team members should continually seek to include others in the work of this ministry by enlisting others to help in specific projects, and to enable others in our church body to leverage their artistic or communication studies, skills and/or gifts for the work of the ministry.

Cycles of Service

Members are asked to serve for a year at a time as able. At the end of the year-long service commitment, a team member may commit for another cycle, seek to join another ministry team, or take a type of sabbatical. Team members will meet all together one time at the formation of the ministry and then meetings will be on an as-needed basis with most communication occurring via email.
