The College Ministry Team (CMT) invests deeply in the lives of college students to magnify and multiply the gospel through-out Seattle and to the ends of the earth. We aim to reach out to students at their campuses, connect them to The Hallows community, and disciple them through intentional relationships.
Display the immeasurable value of the gospel in the laying down of the lives of team members in the pursuit of college students in the city of Seattle and beyond.
Affirm the role of the local church in gospel advancement with a deep commitment to discipling students towards meaningful engagement within their local church.
Accentuate the gospel’s power to change lives by encouraging and equipping students to live their lives on mission for the magnification and multiplication of the gospel.
1. Monthly Fellowship:
Members of the CMT will attend monthly college gatherings and events.
Each team member will identify - through discernment and relationship-building - specific students to invest in over the course of the year. Investment can include (but is not limited to) checking in with students, inviting them into team members’ lives within and beyond church, and facilitating their integration into Hallows church life.
3. Special Events & Outreach:
Members of the CMT will assist in the creation and implementation of special events for college students. Such events may include (but are not limited to) weekend retreats, social events, training events, and campus outreach. Ministry team members will have the opportunity to choose which events they’d like to invest in.
4. Team Building:
Members of the CMT will attend quarterly team gatherings and have monthly check-ins with CMT Leader (Krystal) to discuss and pray through how things are going with the specific students they are investing in.
Each team member will have the opportunity to lead or co-lead a specific initiative within the ministry, which will most likely center around a particular campus (i.e. outreach at UW).
Cycles of Service
The cycle of service for the CMT aligns with the academic calendar. Commitment begins in mid September and ends in May 2016. Team members can be added mid- year on a case-to-case basis. The CMT requires a significant investment of team members to relationally invest in students (approx. 2-4 hours a week) but team involvement is intentionally flexible in order to be tailored to the unique gifts, calling, and capacity of each team member.
